GRIECHENLAND
Griechenland hat eine sehr lange Weinbautradition, Funde zeigen, dass bereits in der Jungsteinzeit Wein bereitet wurde. Heute werden in Griechenland auf insgesamt 113.000 Hektar Weinreben angebaut, mehr als die Hälfte davon werden für die Weinproduktion verwendet.
Eine traditionelle Besonderheit Griechenlands ist der Retsina, dieser Tafelwein wird während der Gärung mit Baumharz versetzt. Die Verwendeten Rebsorten sind oftmals Savatiano, Assyrtiko und Roditis. Die typischen Herkunftsgebiete des Retsinas liegen alle im südlichen Mittelgriechenland in der Nähe von Athen.
